name: Donnie Darkhorse
address: New Haven, Connecticut
email address: comefullcircle8808@yahoo.com

Donald Dakota Devnet Darkhorse is a poet, spoken word artist, photographer, artist, and musician from Connecticut. At only 21 years old, he already has a book of poetry published, and a cd out as well. His debut book, "A Scar is Born" came out in May 2007, and his second book, "Another Day, Another Shade of Gray", is due out in April 2008. His debut cd, "Scars and Stripes" came out in January 2008 and was produced by Poet of Pain. Donnie is currently an undergraduate at Central Connecticut State University majoring in English. In the future (besides writing poetry and performing his spoken word) he plans to be a high school teacher in an inner city school, helping teenagers in need and opening their eyes to the wonderful world of self expression through creative writing. In his free time, Donnie enjoys playing several sports (including basketball, baseball, tennis, and flag football), traveling, skiing, playing pool, bowling, going to the beach at sunset, hiking, playing madden and wii, going to concerts, origami, coffee shops, and scrabble. Donnie's book can be purchased online through barnesandnoble.com, amazon.com, and borders.com, and his CD is avaliable on cdbaby.com and itunes. Donnie will be the featured poet at Destination's Booksellers in New Albany, IN on Wednesday, May 28th, so come out and see him perform then!

Barb Anderson

Hometown:  Jeffersonville, IN
Husband:  Don Anderson (social services, artist)
Children:
Meagan Anderson (about to be married to Chris Haven)
Christian Anderson (dating Erin Schroeder)
Nephews:  David Richards, Henry and Eric Heil

I have lived and worked here all my life. Originally I wanted to write and to teach, as a young woman I began to work with the poor and that is where I stayed. The following poems are just a reflection of thoughts and images in my life.

Chris Barth
Chris Barth currently resides in Bloomington, Indiana where he works at the public library, plays in a variety of musical projects, and writes songs, poems, and other such things for the world's enjoyment.  He currently is a member of the band The Impossible Shapes and also plays as Normanoak, both on the Secretly Canadian record label.

Ian Uriel Girdley
Ian Uriel Girdley was born April 22, 1978 in a commune in Southern Indiana, but grew up in the small town of Owensburg. He made his adult home (or lived homeless) in Bloomington, Indiana from 1998 to 2007. He started reading writing poetry in 2003, and soon began participating in the many events and facets of Bloomington's rich poetry scene, eventually organizing the ‘Drunk and Unpublished’ poetry group. He now lives in Jeffersonville, Indiana with his fiancée and a roommate where he continues to write poetry, and, more recently, essays and short fiction. He founded and currently runs Syzygy (www.syzygypoets.com), a group which promotes poetry, music, and the arts in Indiana and surrounding areas. He is self-employed as a free-lance writer; therefore, he makes almost no money. He is happy, nonetheless, as long as he has cigarettes to smoke, a pen and paper to write, and some bourbon from time to time to sip on. Besides writing and organizing poetry events, he spends his time reading, avoiding police officers, bantering on various subjects in dive bars and coffee shops, and playing Scrabble with his fiancée. Ian has poems published in “Fine Wine Mortar” and “A Cocoon for the Pages” (two anthologies published by Matrix Literary Arts Organization), Decomp Online Literary Magazine, the Louisville Eccentric Observer, and “Best Modern Voices: Words for the New Millennium: A Poetry Anthology”. He has four self-published poetry chapbooks, three of which he offers free as downloadable e-books at http://ianurielgirdley.livejournal.com. You can contact Ian at igirdley@syzygypoets.com

Dennis Ray Powell, Jr.
Once called the Proverbial Son by a hermaphroditic Episcopelian Missionary whilst walking the streets of Santa Cruz, California in a marijuana-induced three day happy haze, Dennis Ray Powell Jr. never did go back home. He went to Texas and found an apple core, brown and thousands of days aged on the roadside of his boyhood. Nothing else was there.
He now spends his days travelling the country doing his best impression of a monk, though sadly he is allergic to sunlight. Everytime it touches his skin he breaks out in hives and has sex, either with himself or anyone passing by.
Dennis' favorite word is "belligerent."
